about

Language are proud to release Tao's cover of the classic track "Riot in Lagos", featuring remixes from Plaid, Buckfunk 3000, Future Forces Inc., and Tao.If you don't know this seminal track originally recorded by Ryuichi Sakamoto (Yellow Magic Orchestra, 80s electronic guru, the man behind the Merry Christmas Mr Lawrence soundtrack) in the mid- 80s, then you probably are mistaken... It's one of those classic tracks that Derrick May plays at the end of his sets. It's one of those tracks that makes your evening out a memorable one.The fact that "Roger" (Tao) is Japanese may give him the cultural street-cred needed to cover such a classic record. The original cover appears on the vinyl version of his debut "Esoteric Red" LP. Four pieces of music that stand up as tracks on their own - whether they're remixes or not.
